Phil Wainewright blogs about SaaS for ZDNet. While I don't necessarily agree with him all the time [he's a bit too much of an evangelist for my tastes], he does as comprehensive a job on this very important component of enterprise software as anyone in the blogosphere. Phil is now extending his influence by recognizing some of the analyst he feels "get" SaaS...
Analysts who really understand on-demand by ZDNet's Phil Wainewright -- There are plenty of industry analysts out there who will rent-a-quote about SaaS and on-demand, but only a handful really understand what it's all about. Here's an introduction to them.
- Laurie McCabe, AMI Partners
- Tom Kucharvy, Summit Strategies
- Dennis Pombriant, Beagle Research
- Amy Mizoras Konary, IDC
- Ben Pring, Gartner
- Amy Wohl, Wohl Associates
- Jason Maynard, Credit Suisse
Some of these analysts work is very familiar to me, others I look forward to getting to know better and thank Phil for the recommendation. Whether you're as evangelical about SaaS as Phil and some of his counterparts are, there's no denying that software as a service is a critical component of the changing landscape.
Vinnie,
Thanks for the link and I most certainly recall reading it when you first wrote it. For those who are having trouble linking to Vinnie's post, it's because he copied the wrong permalink [shame shame Vinnie!].
Here is the article in question with the proper permalink:

Phil has done pioneering work around his so called wbe 3.0,,,but there is so much more to innovation in enterprise apps - telemetry, analytics, virtualization...he is narrowly focused in that sense...you may enjoy what I wrote at
